Forest Service property with private inholdings used for cattle and hay. Complex geology, with contrasting vegetation. Weeds are abundant but this community may be too dry for most.;Southwest facing rocky slope on limestone near slope break. Surface rock reacts strongly with acid. Community is a mixed conifer / deciduous woodland with a short canopy. Conifer component may be result of succession after clearing for grazing. Deciduous trees include chinquapin oak and hickory: conifers are red cedar and Virginia pine. Low ground cover is dominated by moss and Packera obovata.

Small - medium sized patch of young forest near limestone/sandstone break. Plot is near slope break but is placed on single aspect.
